Counselling

St Mary’s Catholic College has the services of a school counsellor, with qualifications in either psychology, social work or counselling. Provided through the Catholic Schools Office, the school counsellor works on site as part of the wellbeing team. They offer a variety of support services directly to students and make recommendations to assist staff and families cater for students’ ongoing educational needs.

Referrals to the school counsellor are generally made via leaders of wellbeing.

The school counsellor focuses on supporting students to achieve their potential. For complex issues requiring more intensive or broader focus, the school counsellor will work to support families in accessing external counselling/psychologist support.
